The IPTV Patent License is a single package license (in the form of a patent pool) which offers, on fair and reasonable terms, multiple essential patents held by multiple parties in relation to IPTV broadcasting. This will promote the prevalence of IPTV broadcasting and contribute to the convenience of prospective licensees. ULDAGE Inc. is authorized to perform as administrator of the IPTV Essential Patent License.
The IPTV Essential Patent License provides license under patents essential to the Standards and the Guideline in the IP broadcasting field developed by the IPTV Forum Japan ("IPTVF-J") stated in the target standards list IPTV Target Standards ("IPTV Standards"), and which are identified on our web site(“IPTV Essential Patent Portfolio”). The IPTV Essential Patent Portfolio is updated each quarter.
Please click the page regarding IPTV Essential Patent License Patent Holders. The IPTV Patent Holders are updated each quarter.
It cannot be guaranteed that the IPTV Essential Patent License includes all essential patents. ULDAGE Inc. endeavors to be able to offer as many essential patents as possible.
The Japan Intellectual Property Arbitration Center ("JIPAC") is an independent third party evaluating which patents are essential for the IPTV Standards. Any party who believes it holds patents that are essential for the IPTV Standards is invited to submit them to the JIPAC for evaluation. If any party is interested and needs further information, please go to the website of the JIPAC. Please be aware that patent submission is only in the Japanese language.
Even if a new patent is added or a new patent holder participates, there are no changes in the license terms for the current contract period, including the terms regarding the royalty rate.

The IPTV Essential Patent License shall take effect retroactively on the first date of the quarterly period that includes the date of agreement execution (the three-month period that begins on either January 1, April 1, July 1, or October 1), and shall remain in force until September 30, 2026. The IPTV Essential Patent License shall be automatically renewed for every five years unless otherwise notified six months prior to the expiration date.
