Who are required to obtain the UHDTV Essential Patent License?

  • Manufacturers or distributors of UHDTV satellite broadcasting receivers, and providers of UHDTV satellite broadcasting services are required to obtain the Satellite-UHDTV Essential Patent License.

  • If a company outsources the manufacturing of UHDTV satellite broadcasting receivers to a third party, and the receivers are sold under the company’s brand, then the party which attaches the brand will be required to obtain the license.
